Hadrian, 117-138. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 31 mm, 25.22 g, 6 h), Rome, circa 130-133. HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P Bare bust of Hadrian to right, lion skin draped around his neck. Rev. RESTITVTORI ITALIAE / S C Hadrian, togate, standing right, holding roll in his left hand, raising up Italia, who holds cornucopiae in her left hand and kneels to left before him. BMC -. Cohen -. RIC pl. 148, 1876 (this coin). Apparently unique with this highly unusual heroic bust type. Somewhat smoothed and with minor deposits, otherwise, very fine.
